Cedarhill Animal Sanctuary began with a single act of compassion. In 1987, our founder, Kay McElroy, rescued a six-month-old cougar cub named Zack from neglect and abuse, trading her old tractor to save his life. That moment sparked a lifelong mission to provide a safe, loving home for animals in need. Today, Cedarhill stands as a refuge for abused, abandoned, and neglected animals—including big cats, horses, dogs, domestic cats, and livestock.
